Investment banking executive Michael Quiel actively supports nonprofit organizations throughout his community. A donor to the Rypien Foundation, Michael Quiel has contributed more than $2 million to help families with kids diagnosed with childhood cancer.
Former NFL quarterback Mark Rypien established the Rypien Foundation to help children with cancer after losing his young son to the disease. Individuals interested in supporting the Foundation have several options for doing so:
1. Downloading music. In partnership with country singer Luke Yates, the Rypien Foundation announced in October of 2014 that all digital downloads of the artist’s song “Smile” will benefit the nonprofit. Half of the proceeds from each download go to support the Foundation’s initiatives.
2. Donating gently used clothing and household items to Savers. A recent partnership with Savers commits a percentage of Savers’ revenue to the Foundation.
3. Shopping on Amazon Smile. Amazon Smile offers shoppers the convenience of purchasing items through www.smile.amazon.com, and for every purchase, Amazon contributes 0.5 percent of the purchase amount to a charity. Consumers may designate the Rypien Foundation as their charity of choice.
