The managing principal and director of Legend Advisory Corporation, Michael Quiel has worked closely with a number of charities over the years. One charity that Michael Quiel is committed to supporting is the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening conditions, including childhood cancers. According to the Make-A-Wish of America’s website, one wish is granted by the foundation every 35 minutes.

The Foundation works to grant every child’s wish through their vast network of volunteers, donors, and supporters. Wishes children have asked for and the foundation has granted include Walt Disney World vacations, being police officer for a day, and meetings with famous athletes, to name a few.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation works to grant a wish to any child aged two-and-a-half to eighteen with a life-threatening medical condition. Once a medical professional or parent makes a wish request, the Make-A-Wish Foundation works with the child to make this one wish come true, with the hope of creating an unforgettable experience for both the child and his or her family.

Michael Quiel is a generous supporter of the Rypien Foundation. Founded by Super Bowl XXVI MVP Mark Rypien, the foundation helps provide for families with children battling cancer. Through his involvement with the foundation, Michael Quiel has donated over two million dollars to the organization.

Mark Rypien started the foundation in 2004 to remember his son, Andrew, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of three in 1998. Based in Seattle, Washington, the Rypien Foundation provides funding to support programs and projects that benefit children with cancer. The foundation also works to support the families of young cancer patients by providing a healing environment full of hope. It finds support through the generous donations of those who want to help, and also holds different fundraising events throughout the year.

The largest annual fundraiser is the Winemakers’ Dinner. The black tie event features a five-course gourmet meal, which is paired with selected Washington State wines. Attendees can also bid on silent and live auctions, with all proceeds benefiting the Rypien Foundation.
